ALOHA

My name is Corinne Solomon.  I am a longtime Hawai'i resident.  I am a first generation American, and starting working from a young age in my family's restaurant.  I was the first in my family to attend college- my undergraduate degree is from Tulane University in New Orleans, and I have a Doctoral degree in Pharmacology from the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy.  I completed my pharmacist intern year at Tripler and clinical pharmacist residency at the Queen's Medical Center.

I worked at several Oahu hospitals before retiring to take care of my family.  Patient counseling, staff education, and writing and implementing policies and procedures were my main areas of focus.  I live in a multi-generational home in Diamond Head with my husband, daughter, and mother.  I enjoy gardening-my latest passion is growing rare plumerias from seed.  As I don't have room for a plumeria orchard many of them are rehomed as gifts before they grow too large!  

My volunteer experience includes ʻĀina in Schools and I am the Honolulu Republican Party Vice Chair for District 20 and Election Integrity Chair.

I am running for State Representative as a Republican because our current one-party Legislature needs to be balanced.   Hawaii is a trifecta single-party state; the House, Senate, and governorship are all held by a single party.  Fifty nine years of one-party majority rule has landed Hawaiʻi in the top spots for cost of living, tax burden, corruption, and, sadly, resident out-migration.  Our one-party system has allowed corruption, over regulation, and government spending to flourish, while stifling alternative ways of addressing the issues that adversely affect our quality of life and ability to prosper.  We wonʻt be able to solve our problems in one legislative session, but by continuing to elect more leaders who will bring values of personal integrity, conservative spending, limited government we can start to turn things around.
